I also really value being able to share unpolished thoughts.
It used to be really common in academic environments to share unpolished work with colleagues, but it seems to be going away. People have become too insecure to open themselves up to the kind of scrutiny that comes with sharing work early, but it's such a valuable stage for feedback.
The funny thing is, many of us suffer from imposter syndrome in the workplace, but are too scared stiff to admit “I don’t know enough. Pls help me” in front of supervisors and colleagues because we don’t want to appear weak. Humans make living complicated haha

Totally agree.
It gives you time to polish your work, and find your weak arguments.
If the feedback is valuable, it gives you more ideas on how to approach something.

Or if you are as egoistic as me, you won’t necessarily agree with your colleague’s style of writing but accept it as a stylistic difference haha.
True story. I wrote something for the school website, but my direct boss amended it to sound more formal - a move that I disagree with. But I’m not bitter or anything.
