Modern automatic transmission is definitely more efficient.

For sure, but that really takes the joy out of driving. Getting a perfect shift feels so nice!

With the newer cars, I dont know if it is really more efficient. I do know that if you tow, it is better to have so you can stay in the correct power band.

I should add that the same people say "auto transmission is better in sity traffic"
