Hello, my beloved Stackers! Today I wanna talk with all the beginners who want to learn a little bit more about Bitcoin and the Finance world. Sometimes we feel like we are missing something, and having a little bit more knowledge gives us more space to make decisions safely.

About Yzer

Yzer.io is part of the SayNode company and was founded in 2022 by Harsh Jhaveri (Founder), Renato Schär, Werner Liechti, Thomas Bardawil and Sanjna Mehta (Co-Founders). The app has more than 10K downloads at the PlayStore and has a 4.2 rating, while on AppStore it has a 4.8 rating. The app was created to give access to fundamental knowledge about Bitcoin, Economics, and Finance in a gamified way. The classes are easy to follow, with a block structure that makes it less boring than your average educational app.

My Story with Yzer

As many apps I'm gonna show you about in this series, I downloaded Yzer just to see how much sats I could earn there. And being connected with my lightning wallet, I knew they wouldn't be lost in a weird wallet. But to my surprise, I found a lot of useful information and a somewhat fun way to get some sats. Let's start with my Pros and Cons about the app.

Pros and Cons

Design

Pros: It's pretty clean and easy to navigate. It doesn't have lots of buttons or fancy things on your way, and the few ads it has, it's about Yzer or something Bitcoin-related. The text has a good font size and some contrast color to the white background.
Cons: I'm glad they used a minimalistic design for this app, all the colors, font size, and text orientation make it easy to learn and avoid distractions. But I feel like they could use some settings to make the text bigger or change to a dark theme. They did a good job, but there's room for improvement, especially to adjust the app for people with reading disabilities. (And no, you cannot zoom in/out)

Educational

Pros: I love the bitesize lessons, with easy text and a few illustrations to make it easier to understand. The amount of modules is also something really impressive, with 11 modules and 33 chapters in total. Every time you finish a chapter, you take a Quiz and you open a new one, and you get a loot box with some sats as a prize. You don't need to finish a module to open the next one, you can learn in any order you want and take any classes you want, or need. Following the modules as they are displayed on the app will be useful for beginners, but if you have more knowledge, you can jump to the basic ones.
~
Cons: As I said, the classes are bite-sized, which means you won't find really deep information here. If you want to take a deep dive into any of the subjects, you will need to look for it in another place. It would be nice if they could give some trustful links to help us learn even more. Even with lots of info divided by modules and chapters, most of the app is blocked by a paywall, so you can only read what you have on your Learn tab and use the Social tab (I won't cover this tab here because I don't use it, so I don't think it's fair)

Earning

Pros: It's pretty nice to have sats as rewards when you finish a chapter or a module. Imagine earning money every time you go to school. I would like it more.
Cons: Yzer is not the place if you're looking for lots of sats. For finishing a Module, I earned 2 sats, and for finishing a Chapter, I got 1 more. Another thing I feel it's missing something to show which modules you finished. I finished my module and I didn't get any reward, trophy, or just a Congratulation message, just small orange ticks next to the lessons I did.

Premium (Beast Mode)

Pros: Beast Mode is the name the Yzer team gives to the Premium version of the app. You can pay the Mensal Pledge (USD 16,93). You can also give a subscription to someone else, with the Orange Pill Gift, with a monthly, semi-annual, or annual plan (from ~USD 9,69 to ~USD 66,50). The subscription gives you access to Live Bitcoin Classes, with guest speakers, an add-free app, and unlock the Bytes tab, where you can learn about the latest trends, signals, and narratives about money, crypto, and bitcoin.

Cons: I don't hate the idea of having a Premium plan on an app or website, everyone wants to earn money and be paid for their job. But for me, Yzer has a weak point here, the Free Version is too restrictive, you can only have access to the Learn tab and the Social tab, so you have to wait for more modules to be launched. But the Premium Version is too expensive for just an add-free and Byte tab access. (In my national fiat, the Annual plan is around 87,99).

Conclusion

Yzer is a nice platform to learn about Bitcoin and Finance, the lessons are short and easy, and you can do it on your breaks. And you can go back to re-read the texts, without a problem. For a Free app, you get a lot of useful information, but when you finish the modules, there's nothing to do. To be able to read about the latest trends and subjects, you need to pay for premium access, and for me, it's too expensive. About the sats, take them as a bonus for taking the course. If you're looking for a way to get lots of sats, better search for somewhere else. I'm waiting to see if they will post more courses in the next update!
Great review. I use Yzer from time to time as well. You should also try Simple Bitcoin
