Finally somebody is talking about really self-hosting your own Mutiny server.
Thing that almost none of Mutiny users know about and ignore an important fact: if you do not run your own Mutiny server, it si NOT different than any WoS account.
Even that is not too much (only mentioning Start9 as alternative) and going deep into installing the tools (things that normies usually do not do) at least is a worth mention.

Not to Mutiny team that is hiding all the time this aspect to regular users and let them have run Mutiny on default domain mutiniwallet,com that could be seized any time.
Ben, next time please take your time and do a full tutorial on how to install a Mutiny server on your own not just clicking on Start9 marketplace.
I would argue that it is different than WoS. Quite different, in fact.
The reason is that even if the Mutiny domain is seized, as long as you don’t load any compromised version of the app, they can’t steal your sats since they don’t have the keys. You can still recover the sats by fiddling with localStorage.
If they seize the domain and put custom code on it, and you visit it afterwards, they can read your cookies (including whatever you have in localStorage) and sweep your funds

Please show me how you can still use your sats in a LN channel, if you still use the mutinywallet.com domain for your Mutiny account.
If somebody will cease that domain, you cannot access anymore your LN channels.
Is the ability to gift someone a funded wallet no longer a feature in Mutiny? I had always wished as the gift giver that I could cover the initial channel opening fees. Now with the fedi support, giving a gift to a particular federation that would be presented to a new user as a link to a wallet with a balance would be a nice feature.
