Do any of you have computer screens that are just full of pictures and folders?
Dont know how to organize it?
I finally got my desktop organized, now I have to sort through all my hard drives and other folders.
Throw away things I dont need one piece at a time.
What do you do to store things?
Buy a SSD that is 2TB and just put everything away on that?

Things generally don't get too cluttered as I normally delete things I don't want fairly quickly. However, I do have a lot of organized information, pictures, videos, etc, that I want to keep around. Some of that is on the actual computer itself, but much of it is on a home server that I built. It makes much of my information always available from any computer in my house, which is very handy.
That being said, my setup is almost certainly too much effort if you're talking about 2TB of files, so unless you want something like that I would recommend an external drive that you can plug in when you need the files. I would also recommend having at least two copies of everything you would miss if the drive stopped working. The easiest way would be to keep those files on the computer and the drive, so if one fails you have the other still.
Are you saying 2TB is too little?
Actually, I have been deleting old files and pictures I dont really need anymore.
All the small things I have downloaded that I dont need....its going away.
What really gets me is that I have multiple copies of copies.
That is taking time to sort through.
It's not necessarily too little in your case, as it sounds like you probably don't need more than that. I was referring to the cost and effort of setting up a media server or NAS for a drive that size probably not being worth it. An external drive that you can plug in to your computer and unplug as needed would most likely be a lot cheaper.
I only have some pictures and videos.
Some important documents.
I dont need to save movies and stuff.
I used to keep episodes of tv, but its just a waste of space.
But the older stuff is getting hard to find lol
I do a little bit of photography and videography, so I have many terrabytes of pictures and videos I've taken over the years! I do keep digital copies of my TV shows and movies so I don't need to dig out the disks though, so that takes up some space too.
I felt I hoarded too many, so I just let them go.
Family pictures and other stuff is more important to me.
Fortunately I have the space to keep both, so I do. But if it came down to my pictures or my shows, the shows would disappear very quickly!
Yeah, for me it didnt come down to it.
But you have to remember, I am not going to downsize further.
I am only going to be taking more pictures and videos.
My phone screen is the cluttered mess actually. My computer screen is nicely organised.
Generally I just try to delete a lot of stuff but it’s hard to keep up with.
Lately l have been going through everything.
It takes a lot of time.
But l just hope it will be worth it for the future.
My phone screen is a bit lopsided, everything is on the right side so my thumb can reach it lol
