I picked up [A Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Vinge](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/77711.A_Fire_Upon_the_Deep) after listening to [this podcast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oNy0L1wBt4) with the author of [The Simulation Hypothesis](https://www.amazon.com/Simulation-Hypothesis-Computer-Scientist-Quantum-ebook/dp/B07M81F1KG) where he references [Vinge](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/44037.Vernor_Vinge). It seems like all of Vinge's works earned him some kind of an award and I've never read him.
