It seems most branches of engineering innovate on how we physically travel and interact with the physical world.
Software engineering seems to more often innovate on how we mentally travel - how we communicate and learn.
The invention of the printing press, printer, copy/fax machine, telephone/cell phone/tablet and computer - and of course satellites and all the wires (and stuff…) are the major examples of more traditional engineering that impacts how we “mentally travel” - how we communicate and learn. Did I miss anything? Neuralink?
Also LOL at the xerox machine making it on such a profound list!
EDIT: The camera and audio recording technology!
