German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has urged significant investments in Ukraine at a recent reconstruction conference. He committed to advocating for extensive aid from G7 nations to support Ukraine amidst its conflict with Russia. Scholz emphasized the need for private sector investment alongside government funds to effectively rebuild the nation. He assured continuous support for Ukraine and rejected the notion of a military or enforced peace settlement.
"The country's reconstruction and modernization will demand substantial investments, with the World Bank estimating nearly $500 billion over the next decade," Scholz stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the two-day summit in Berlin.
The credit pump will be running hot!
The need for significant funding for the reconstruction was evident from the start. The pressing question is, how will they finance this endeavor? Will they resort to mortgaging their agricultural output?

We know very well how predatory are loans from the likes of World Bank. Ukraine has no chance to repay most of them and the agricultural infrastructure will be forfeit to foreign actors.
Ukraine stood as an agricultural powerhouse for centuries. Now Zelensky is willingly selling off his country to foreigners.

Okay, I can understand that Ukraine needs this for reconstruction. But, it's sad to listen from someone whose own country (a.k.a. his own land) needs to reconstruct as well, albeit on monetary grounds. What about Germany's falling Economy?
