The first 40 matches of T20 World Cup 2024 - the first round, basically - are over. Eight teams are in the next round, the Super Eight, while 12 have been knocked out. How did that first round go? Unpredictable and entertaining. Yes, unpredictable not because USA have reached the super 8s but how bowlers have dominated the game of batsmen.
Yes, this world cup can be defined as a shock to the players as well as cricket lovers, considering it's happening right after IPL run fiesta where most matches saw high scores - mostly in excess of 200.
Anyways, WI as host has nothing to do with this. It's US grounds where bowlers made batsmen dance to their tunes. Anyways, USA will no be hosting any match of super 8 phase, so batsmen can really take a sigh of relief now. Eight teams which have qualified for this phase include India, Australia, England, West Indies, USA, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and South Africa.
