I was talking with a coworker the other night. We were talking about people who work at jobs they dont seem qualified for. They work and are there, but never seem to get much done. Granted, we work nights so peoples sleep schedules are messed up, but still. Especially boilers, I came in and they told me I actually know my stuff. Of course I do, its important when things go wrong! Other guys dont even know how to start up a boiler.... That is just wrong. Anyway, do any of you ever encounter these type of people in your workplaces?
I think this is one of the main cons of being paid for the time you are there instead of your actual productivity. I'm sure there are plenty of unqualified people in job positions everywhere, and on top of that, the motivation and incentive to actually try and do better isn't there because again most are paid just for the hours they are there, not the work they put in. I experienced this when working past jobs. People would just do the absolute bare minimum and still complain about not being paid enough. But the unqualified and incompetent nature just stems from the fact that those who created this fiat system are some of the most incompetent people to begin with, so makes sense that the rest of the system is just as bad.
Let us continue to build this new system that grows based off of genuine, meaningful, and valuable work!

It reminded me of a video l saw of a construction worker who was paid for the job, and one who was paid by the hour. Can you guess who was radically more efficient and skilled?
I work in public relations for a nightclub at an intersection and many people weren't qualified for the job, the problem is that it is not easy either, and I don't blame them. From the outside it looks that we are just talking, but there's more to that.
We had one that was too shy to talk with passerby, another who couldn't stand drunk and rude people and we even had one who tried to sell drugs to the tourists without us knowin.
The hardest thing is always when the two PRs of different establishment meet and have to compete to see who wins the customer.
