Actually, it was all about provoking Russia into a war, wasn't it? This is the only logical conclusion any sane person can draw, after it was revealed that the West had no intention of respecting the Minsk agreements they had signed.

The American, and likely NATO/EU goal is to break Russia's economy such that the Russian people deal with Putin. War accelerates economic decline exponentially.

Allowing Ukraine to join NATO is a spectacular terrible idea for a dozen reasons but we only need one terrible reason and idea
I heard from Trump that the median age of the Ukraine military is 43 years.
Regarding the Russian economy, Europe and the west rely on natural gas from Russia.
