It's the hardware mostly. I'm fond of my whisper quiet machine with a great trackpad and awesome battery life.

Yeah... battery life on ANY Linux machine I've seen or heard of is no where near M2+ machines. My wife has the new Mac and it has great battery life.
That said, the battery life is good enough for me but it is no where near MacOS.
