This is an experiment in crowd-sourced advertising!
I co-host a Bitcoin podcast, Hell Money. We'd like to generate revenue from the podcast, but there are many aspects of the traditional ad-supported model which I think are less than ideal.
I wouldn't want to have to read ads for things I didn't believe in, and honestly I'd rather not read ads for things I don't actually use and love.
However, a lot of the Bitcoin software, hardware, and services that I use don't really have advertising budgets.
So, I came up with a somewhat wacky idea: What if I made a list of all the things I would be happy to read an ad for, and let listeners vote on their favorite? This would make sure that I was always shilling things I loved anyways, and that they were things that listeners liked or at least were interested in.
This poll has 5 options, each of which is hardware, software, or a service that I use regularly and like a lot. I'll do a 60-second ad read at the beginning of the next episode for whichever choice gets the most sats, even if it's like 1 sat.
I'd also love to hear suggestions for things you think I should be shilling, so I can check them out in the future, and maybe include as an option if I ever do this again.
