Way too early odds for 2025 NBA Title
We did something similar shortly after the Super Bowl, so I thought it would be fun to bring that post idea back and apply it to the NBA now that the draft is over.
Here are all 30 NBA team's current odds to win the NBA Title next season:
Boston Celtics +300 Denver Nuggets +750 New York Knicks +850 Oklahoma City Thunder +900 Minnesota Timberwolves +950 Dallas Mavericks +1000 Milwaukee Bucks +1100 Philadelphia 76ers +1500 Los Angeles Clippers +3500 Miami Heat +3500 Phoenix Suns +3500 Golden State Warriors +3500 Memphis Grizzlies +4000 Los Angeles Lakers +4000 Indiana Pacers +5000 New Orleans Pelicans +5000 Cleveland Cavaliers +5000 Orlando Magic +7000 Sacramento Kings +7000 Houston Rockets +13000 Atlanta Hawks +13000 San Antonio Spurs +15000 Chicago Bulls +70000 Portland Trail Blazers +100000 Detroit Pistons +100000 Charlotte Hornets +100000 Toronto Raptors +100000 Washington Wizards +100000 Brooklyn Nets +100000 Utah Jazz +100000
Pacers odds are longer than I would have thought considering they went to the Eastern Conference Finals and were in position to win at least 2/4 games they ended up losing to Boston. They certainly played Boston tougher than Dallas did. Warriors ahead of the Pacers, Pelicans, Cavs and Magic? Not sure about that.
Shill me what teams are too high and what teams odds are too low and if you have a dark horse whose odds you like.
Sats for all, GR
I like those Bucks odds. I still think Dame and Giannis could be one of the great duos in NBA history.
The Warriors have a bunch of big contracts and they're willing to spend money. If they can swing one or two good trades, they might be competitive again.
reply
Yeah, I think the Bucks are a great pick amongst the second tier favourites.
I don't know about the Warriors. I think they are done.
reply
I think they're done, too, but people are wondering if they'll be able to land Paul George or KD or one of the other big fish. Imagine swapping out all their high profile deadweight for a real an actual star player.
reply
That would certainly make them a playoff team and make their odds make more sense but these odds seem to imply they will do something of that magnitude. We will see.
Are the Clippers retooling? I thought the Suns said they plan to run it back.
reply
There are several other stars in uncertain situations. I think it's just a probability play. Similar to the 76ers, who don't have a roster yet, there's a chance the roster comes together around their superstar.

What is your take on the Bronny James thing?
I am surprised another team didn't take him before the Lakers to try to hold him for ransom. I guess you aren't allowed to do that to Lebron.
Raptors traded for 45. I thought they should take Bronny and tell the Lakers they want their 1st rounder next year for him.
reply
I had a similar expectation.
I'm enough of a sap that I'll be happy to see Bron and Bronny out there together, however we got there.
reply
I am sure teams considered it but thought it wasn't worth it to piss the league off.
Knicks are about right if they can stay healthy they can push Boston
reply
Agree.

Chicago Bulls are the one too high...
reply
Where should Bulls be?
reply
Should be with the hawks at least...
I'm taking interest in NBA and MLB at a priority
reply
They did trade Caruso and he was one of their more important players, so I think that signaled they are planning on rebuilding. I think they should be higher based on last year's team and making the play in but not sure they will be a play-in team this coming year. We will see.
