Whenever I had this issue, it was because the node I was using at the time (raspberry pi) was overheating and getting throttled.

What could go wrong when the most important parts for a node are wrong?
  • using a weak hardware
  • using an external drive (USB cable is the weakest link for a node, a bottleneck)
  • using Tor
No wonder we have so many force closed channels...
