Another high-speed rail project could eventually...
Could & eventually. The current project will likely not be finished until I am no longer breathing so I'm not holding my breath on this one lol.

The big failure in Vegas public transport was that they allowed taxi providers to sabotage the monorail project.
Vegas has a monorail, it just doesn't go anyplace that customers want to go....like down the strip and to the airport.
My point with that is....sure you can maybe catch your high-speed train from LAX to LAS, but now what? Hop in a taxi and pay $30 for each ride? All that to save a 4hr car ride from LAX?

I donβt think there is enough demand to warrant high speed train

Imagine being an UCLA student when this exists.
Students could just cheaply make a trip for fun adventures to Mount San Antonio or into the desert. The ameripoors would finally know what it feels like for europoors to make a weekend trip into the Alps or to Italy

I've been regularly going to Vegas for 25+ years for work conferences....Since 2020 it has gotten noticeably more sketchy. Last year there was 2 guys in the lobby of the Bellagio trying to shake me down (ie. pressure me to donate to them).
I spoke later to doorman and explained what happened and he said "yes, its all hoodrats from LA that come here now to commit crimes".
I have a feeling if they complete this project it will swamp Vegas with crime.

Post covid dystopia
Public transportation is a mode of transport for criminals. Itβs one reason why Beverly Hills blocked subway construction for decades until they caved a few years ago. And I think it was a lawsuit that forced them
Santa Monica and other beach cities have blocked subway construction

You know I never used to think this until now. I live close to a Metro and I see constant theft of fares. Riders just leave their trash all around. And you get the most random homeless people just making riding not as appealing. Itβs sad tho because in Japan they have zero of these issues

This may not be a popular opinion... But we need to start punishing people for even minor offenses like littering and fare jumping. There's a reason these things don't happen in places like Japan and Singapore

We also need to punish for shoplifting and smash grab and looting and arson
We need to enforce immigration law.
We need to build a wall and set land mines and explosives near the Mexican border

Japan and Singapore don't have "racial jungles"
I am quoting Joe Biden. Look it up because I know you don't believe me. Search for "Biden racial jungles"

Is this the hyperloop or a new project?
I am all for public transport, though.

Are people going from LA to Vegas so often?
What is the point if it is just for people who want to go on vacation?
Wouldnt it be better to put one elsewhere?
