A positive Newsweek editorial? What is going on?

Bitcoin is a force of its own, however. In fact, it's a Trojan horse. While some tout bitcoin to line their pockets and others to fill the ballot box, bitcoin exists for neither. In essence, bitcoin is resistance money. It serves those outside the halls of power—especially those vulnerable to financial censorship.
"We want all the remaining bitcoin to be MADE IN THE USA!!!"

Lol!! What a big fat lie that Trump understands Bitcoin!

reply

the key is someone must have told him the USA needs to get all Bitcoins BEFORE the Chinese get them LOL

reply

Trump is a shitcoiner! I don't believe him.

a lot of shitty NFTs for sure I remember he was very anti bitcoin. What changed? LOL politics show

reply

Trump says a lot of things. People are slow learners. First off, many believe pretty much any politician that says what they like. I do give some people a pass on Trump though. He did do many things that Republicans have been promising to do my whole life for what that is worth. But, he also says something and back peddles on it. Its a pattern with him.

In the end, we don't need them but he could do some stuff that is better than what has been done up to this point. Not gonna make me support him but I'd be happy to see a move in a better direction.

reply

Me neither

reply

Not read it yet but by the title I can say that 'Bitcoin is already bigger than any country, government or law.'

reply

I'll say it again, don't take politicians at their word. They'll flip-flop on you in a heartbeat.

Unsurprising, really. Powerful people usually don't care for disruptive technologies that compete with the systems they control.
reply

The most surprising thing about this editorial is that it was published in the most mainstream, normie magazine in the U. S. Bitcoin is officially mainstream, IMO, for whatever that is worth.

reply

That is interesting and its what sticks out to me as well.

reply

Trump effect

reply

mainstream is like being famous for a minute. I reckon it officially went mainstream when it showed up on The Simpsons 🤠

reply

Except Portugal where the politicians are honest and effective

reply

Unfortunately, we share a common problem with the global community: honest and capable politicians rarely have promising careers in politics.

reply

Bitcoin doesn’t need politics or State.

reply

Politics needs bitcoiners.

reply

Good to hear from a publication that isn't on the right, in fact, it inches towards the left.

reply

Most publications are left wing

Why is this surprising?

reply

For people that value holding their wealth, I think this is very important. Especially now that the government is doing all of these things to inflate your money to zero.

reply

The government can use the growing influence of the crypto industry and bitcoin by supporting pro-bitcoin policies and easing regulatory crackdowns. It’s that simple

reply

Clearly someone at Newsweek read Resistance Money.

reply

I thought it said Biden not bitcoin

I need to get my eyes checked

reply

hi

reply

I promote bitcoin to educate and for people's adoption towards a freer and more honest world outside of governments and corruption.
