In April, a CrowdStrike update caused all Debian Linux servers in a civic tech lab to crash simultaneously and refuse to boot. The update proved incompatible with the latest stable version of Debian, despite the specific Linux configuration being supposedly supported. The lab's IT team discovered that removing CrowdStrike allowed the machines to boot and reported the incident.

Trying to walk 9 miles from Walter E. Long Lake to Downtown, Austin. Apple Maps says 4.5 hours, Google Maps says 3 hours.
Let’s see if I’m even able to walk one hour in this weather.

Yes, idk what happened there
Also, I wanna tell you that walking 8 miles had been a routine for me in my childhood.
Yes, I imagined, was one of the reason I wanted to try this
update: I think it means that Apple thinks their users walk slower than Google lol

How does something get tagged as outlawed? I have wild west mode on so I see it regardless but once and I awhile I notice a post tagged outlawed.
reply
I think you need to have multiple down zaps. ⚡️ Almost like you have to try to get outlawed.
reply
I think the quantity matters, too.
reply
190 sats \ 3 replies \ @k00b 20 Jul
Multiple stackers don't need to downzap to outlaw, but without multiple stackers it's expensive.
If the stacker's median post/comment zap/downzap ratio is outlawed, their post starts out in outlawed as well, ie if the majority of content they've posted has been outlawed, their new content starts that way. Content can be zapped out of an outlawed state.
reply
Thanks for clarifying.
reply
I think that's what a few of us were asking about a while ago, when we were saying that it seemed like certain stackers were outlawed. I had been confused about very recent posts already being outlawed.
reply
I remember that. I think someone was saying stackers can become outlaws and I confused things by saying they aren't without clarifying that it's their content median starting them in an outlawed state.
reply
I guess you need to have downzaps from multiple stackers because I have downzapped sats farming posts in the sports territory but they never got labelled outlawed. Maybe if multiple stackers downzap the same post.
reply
Yes
That’s what I meant to say
Multiple users down zapping

Day 176 of the #100aDayTil100k challenge, sets breakdown: 4x32 normal/narrow, 16 pike; Total: 144 (Day 280 of 100+ pushups per day in total; day 179 of 120+ pushups per day)
Listened to the new What is Money episode with Robert Edward Grant. Really fascinating stuff, still digesting most of it and will probably have to re-listen to it (with the video, as I listened to it on Fountain, obvs) in order to see the geometry and visual examples presented. Lots of great quotes as will, i.e.:
“The higher self is the conceiver; the brain is the receiver; your conscious mind is the perceiver. How you tune your heart will determine that perception.” ― Robert Edward Grant
One of the things I found interesting was that Grant considers judgement as the opposite of love. My thought was that it would be grief, i.e. the loss - or lack of - love. But from a "Christ consciousness" kind of perspective, judgement does make sense. Will have to meditate on this.
Was sort of entertaining to hear them discuss the meaning of the word "context" as well, haha. I've always considered it to be that the meaning stems from the environment, or from the frame of which anything is observed, or that "relationality is fundamental" as Breedlove said (summarizing the book "Heidegger, Neoplatonism, and the History of Being")
My original line for from years ago was: "sõna tähendus sõltub kontekstist sõna üksi pole midagi kuni ta on tekstis" which translates to: "the meaning of the word is dependent on the context the word alone is nothing until it is in a text"
PS. Greetings to all who attended the Bitkiwi X event today in Christchurch. Lovely to see some BTC meetups, enthusiasts and business ideas finding roots and hopefully a fertile ground to grow in this part of the world as well. I'll do my best to contribute to that 🤠

The Bus - Leonard Cohen
I was the last passenger of the day, I was alone on the bus, I was glad they were spending all that money just getting me up Eighth Avenue. Driver! I shouted, it's you and me tonight, let's run away from this big city to a smaller city more suitable to the heart, let's drive past the swimming pools of Miami Beach, you in the driver's seat, me several seats back, but in the racial cities we'll change places so as to show how well you've done up North, and let us find ourselves some tiny American fishing village in unknown Florida and park right at the edge of the sand, a huge bus pointing out, metallic, painted, solitary, with New York plates.

Debt:
Contrary to the average person’s belief, there is no debt. Although they believe they have taken out loans and are liable to pay them back, this is not the case.
With the use of their live certificate of birth, new credit is created in the unsuspecting person’s name.
When they apply for any loan, they are in fact given back their own credit and are tricked in becoming the debtor, when they were in fact the creditor all along.

people keep saying "what do i do, renounce/denounce my citizenship?" explaining this term wud make a good post!

money is debt in the form of an implicit contract between the individual and society

where is that contract? can I read the terms? who signed it?

The state issues laws and is ultimately responsible for formalizing society’s implicit contract.

Maybe debt is older than money, but by law, debt is not money, money is not debt. A deferred payment is not payment, a promise to perform is not performance.

I was not referring to legal tender but money in general. When you pay someone with a "legal tender", are you giving them credit or debt?
And if you pay someone with gold, are you giving them credit or debt?
