Ugh. I just received this email. If you thought the lines in 2021 were bad, wait until you see 2024's.

Key measures impacting your experience:

  1. Security Lines: Security lines will take time. Expect delays and plan accordingly.
  2. Bags: We strongly recommend no bags. It will add to your delay entering the building and secure areas. Review the Prohibited Items list.
  3. Nakamoto Stage: We will not accommodate every attendee. We encourage you to watch the Trump’s speech from the other six stages (and Kennedy’s speech in the Karl Dean Ballroom.)

Two Layers of Security

Venue Entrance:

  • All attendees will pass through a magnetometer.
  • Bags (small backpacks, purses, diaper bags) will be searched. No large packages, bags, or luggage will be allowed.
  • Bags will slow your entry; only bring essentials.

Nakamoto Stage:

  • Attendees will pass through a 2nd magnetometer screening to access the seating area.
  • Trump’s Speech (Saturday, 2pm):
    • Access starts at 8:00am for all pass types.
    • Whale and Industry Pass holders must enter through Enterprise Hall and must be seated by 12:45pm.
    • Doors close at 1:45pm.
  • Kennedy’s Speech (Friday, 4pm):
    • Access starts at 8:00am for all pass types.
    • Whale and Industry Pass holders must enter through Enterprise Hall and must be seated by 2:45pm.
    • Doors close at 3:45pm.
  • No seat saving; every seat will be filled. We recommend arriving with the group you want to sit with.
  • No privacy masks will be allowed in Nakamoto Stage. They are permitted elsewhere in the building.

Nakamoto Stage Capacity:

  • Room capacity is limited to 8,000 seats. We expect 20,000 attendees. Seats for speeches are not guaranteed, and latest arrivals will be standing. When capacity is reached, you will be encouraged to watch Trump’s speech from the other stages.

Viewing Options:

  • Karl Dean Ballroom Watch Party: Skip the lines, grab a beer and watch Trump’s speech with friends.
  • Note: The Karl Dean Ballroom will stream Nakamoto Stage content all day, both days.
  • Mining, Open Source, Genesis, Enterprise, and The Deep Backstage:
    • All open for viewing.
  • Enterprise and The Deep Backstage: Located inside the Secret Service perimeter. We recommend staying until speeches end to avoid delays re-entering.

Prohibited Items:

The following items are prohibited from entering the venue and Nakamoto stage:
  • Outside food and drink
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Large Banners, signs, placards
  • Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems
  • E-Cigarettes and vapes
  • Explosives of any kind
  • Firearms
  • Glass, thermal and metal containers
  • Laser lights and laser pointers
  • Mace and/or pepper spray
  • Noisemakers, such as air horns, whistles, drums, bullhorns, etc.
  • Spray containers
  • Supports for signs/placards and tripods
  • Weapons

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we implement these necessary measures. And we look forward to having you at this historic event for Bitcoin.
Unsurprising considering Trump will be there but let's face it the real highlight is going to be @k00b and @car Stacker News Live Live.
Any update on the costumes?
reply
I forgot about that and haven't received word from Car.
reply
Don't forget to wear your SN swag at the conference.
reply
I've gotten so many compliments with my stacker shirt lol
reply
It's the best! The https://lightning.store/ is the best.
reply
Lol everyone keeps thinking it's a sublime shirt 1 girl asked me where to get it earlier I'm throwing the link if I see her again out here on Broadway with the Austin look lol 😆
reply
I don’t see it available in lightning store.
reply
It sold out and didn’t get reprinted
reply
That’s too bad. They have really cool stuff. Do you have a pic of the SN shirt?
What does that look like?
reply
I always wear my hat. Everyday for years now.
reply
Do you get people asking about the hat?
reply
Sometimes. I don't go "out" a lot though.
reply
I hate to imagine how bad it would have been if Harris was also attending.... I feel like at that point people should just live-stream it because the security would be insane with having two complete Secret Service details...
reply
I thought Harris was attending?
reply
No, they announced today she would not be.
reply
What was the reason?
reply
If I had to guess it is because she does not know anything about BTC and the policy. Mark Cuban has already come out and said her campaign reached out to him to help educate her and her team doesn't want her to embarrass herself while she has the momentum.
reply
She is that behind? How up to date do you think Trump is? At least she is trying to bridge the gap!
reply
I do not know anyone that is around her staff enough to really say for certain but I would say if you are going to Mark Cuban to explain BTC and crypto stuff to you I feel like you are pretty out of the loop.
Trump is pretty educated in the area and more importantly with what he doesn't know he has surrounded himself with people that do know and can inform him. JD Vance is a BTC owner and a very vocal Sen. on the hill about the government having a very very light touch when it comes to crypto and imposing regulations

How long did people have to wait in 2021 to get in?
reply
Hours. The line wrapped around the entire conference center. They were completely unprepared. I recommend going to the venue tonight and seeing if you can get a wristband early.

Oof so it's like waiting for a roller coaster except there is no roller coaster
I recommend going to the venue tonight and seeing if you can get a wristband early.
Thanks for the tip!
reply
Going now thanks!!

TSA-like security
so... not secure?
ETA: this does sound like a PITA, though
reply
Ha. That's exactly what I was thinking.
reply
Would be funny if Nakamoto stage would end up half empty when Trump is on stage.
reply
This is so much security there! It seems like you're coming to India. For security reasons at some places , we aren't allowed anything.
People may be eying at Trump's speech there, but for me 'Stacker News Live' will be the best of BC, Nashville.
I've nothing to do with Trump. 😉
reply
Very long list of objects there! The last one, 'weapins', do tell that they are serious this time! They have to write it here just because of Gun culture there in US or why? Trump's effect certainly!
Nevertheless, I'm eagerly waiting for you and @Car to take on the stage with SN live from Nashville!!
Good luck!!
reply
Yes, people like to know when basic civil rights are suspended, vs being blindsided.
reply
Oof.... do they have a TSA Pre-Check lane?!
reply
I got an error trying to zap you from my SN wallet. The zap went through on second try, though. Here's the text:
Invalid prisma.$executeRaw() invocation: Raw query failed. Code: 40P01. Thanks!

You know as well as I that TSA security is not that tough. I remember bringing so much stuff back from korea, japan, and taiwan.
reply
no e-cigs and vapes??? lame
No drones and firearms and explosives... check
reply
Yup, watch out for an inside job. lol.
reply
Ahh! This is too much security! I think this has been tightened to this level after Trump's assassination attempt.
Best of luck with your Nashville stint, @k00b.
