Actually, the best way to protect America’s citizens would be to stop trying to “run the world” and instead opt out of other nations’ battles. Unfortunately, America’s “friends” rarely act like friends.
The next president should serve and protect Americans, while nudging the world toward a better future. After decades of misguided and costly wars, Washington should choose peace and allow America to again become a normal country.
The US economy is inextricably tied to its position as a global superpower, and the dollar serves as a potent tool to maintain that dominance. Any significant decline in American leadership could jeopardize the dollar's hegemony. However, I believe that the US is likely to retain its economic supremacy.
We need someplace to use those weapons.
Israel and Ukraine
Israel pays for roughly half of their stuff and spends a ton of money in R&D. Ukraine is where we send things we don't use anymore and have no use of as well as test out random innovations to see if they work or not (think Vampire drone launch system). With the Ukraine stuff its ironic that it actually saves us money in the US because otherwise the missiles and arms have to be disassembled by Raytheon when they expire.
Israel pays for half? I thought they were 99 percent dependent on US aid?
Nope nada
Israel pays zero or receive zero?
They receive some but it isn't 99%? Hell the US give it to almost all the EU as well its more of a whole doesn't get aid if anything
yes, I think we're on the same page.
this is the part people don't understand: the US isn't engaging in these wars for adventurism and fun, not even to sell weapons (that too, though), and if it quit, it would be better off, spending that war money at home. No.
The US lives as a freeloader off of cheap to free resources, work, and products from the rest of the world, which it gets through dollar hegemonby and neo-imperialist expoitation. the rest of the world knows this quite well and wouldn't let itself be robbed like this if it had a choice.
The wars are there to make it so these robbed countries don't have a choice. When the US loses this power of intimidation and destruction, which is it just about to, the US doesn't just magically regain trillions for spending at home. The US economy then rather ceases to exist as it does now.
You would be right, if that was the truth. I don't mind personally to become a Viking Raider and go on pillaging spree, we can't even do that right. We always half-ass it and leave money and equipment behind. What did we get out of Iraq? The fact that we had to tap our oil reserves tells me, we did a shitty job over there, otherwise you would be paying $0.99 at the pump. I really wish we would raid and pillage (jokingly of course) at least we would have something to show off for...
Too much political correctness detracting from the spoils of war or pillaging
Friggin A...lol
I am not so sure I would rule out the US's intimidation and destruction. One of if not the biggest issues we have had in recent wars has been our commitment to civilians and rules of engagement. Russia, Hamas, etc. they do not follow that and just carpet bomb or even go out and purposefully attack strictly civilian targets. Bus stops in Israel and children's cancer hospitals and malls in Ukraine are not military targets at all.
do you actually believe this? the kool aid is coming out of your ears, friend.

In the Iraq War, civilian casualties stand between double and six times those of the Ukraine war. Afghanistan has similar numbers.
In Gaza in only half a year, the ENTIRE place was razed to the ground - half of buildings are destroyed, that's half of ALL houses people live in - and conservative estimates stand at 40,000 killed, which would be 16 times the civilian death toll of Ukraine - and that's conservative, because the health services don't operate anymore and nobody has given a count in at least 4 months, the real death toll is probably 4x that.

The US empire razes to the ground what it disapproves of. The US has invented carpet bombing and has always regularly done that. it has done so in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos - you know the pictures, everyone does - and in Korea alone, the US bombing campaigns razed a third of the country to the ground.
There is no comparison to anyone else in the world.
Alrighty you done fucked me up with this response because honestly somehow you managed to destroy your own premise that the US's intimidation and destruction abilities.... I mean crap man you found pictures and graphs that I could use so thank you!
Also notice you are trying to compare military engagements with US troops to those that do not have US troops which isn't exactly equal because even within the Russian invasion and the Israeli war those are two different battles.
Now getting to the things you pointed out.
"Run the World", I believe it's not 100% right! There is still a good part of world that US can't dominate. But yes, there's definitely one more front for establishing "run the world" is opening up in Venezuela. If US intervenes in Venezuela, which seems most likely, will it be good for Venezuelans? @bief57
Will it be good for Venezuelans? Good question, it depends, are we going to benefit? At what cost would the aid be? Although in these times of emergency, it seems to be one of the best options, perhaps... I want my country to be free, not a dictatorship and not a colony.
I can't imagine the American regime will ever quit trying to run the world.
Unless there comes a time when they can't afford to.
They already can't afford to and yet they keep trying.
In short no. The owners of the government (elites) are not loyal to their countrymen. They are loyal to their own bellies. They will continue to seek to enrich themselves cloaked in lies like protecting democracy, protecting mother earth, and global "free-trade". The truth is they don't care about any of those three things.
I believe Trump will be the next US prez but the main reason he wasn't buried long ago is because he will increase military spending. He may be less interested in starting conflicts or stirring up Russia or China but I believe the MIC will do very well under his rule. He's far more of a realist than and idealist when it comes to foreign policy. I mean if you can even say he has any ideology. I think the realist position on international relations is the most practical and simple way to look at it. Its about resources and power. I believe this is the way China and Russian rulers view the world as well. When you understand how your enemies think you are more successful at combating them.
If I were an evil elite I'd want a constant threat of WW3. The world on a knife's edge. Sell arms to everyone. That's the world we are in and I don't see that changing until the U.S. loses it power to fuel these wars with fiat.
This will definitely put America's supremacy on the line. America has been a superpower only because it controls most of the world. Why do you think these wars are going on? I always feel that US could stop all of those but peace is none of US's business! US wants only fear to remain on top so that other countries never cease craving for war machines!!
I'm sure the politicians in this country don't know the Hell is waiting for their welcome! Im sure they all know their pangs of conscience!
That would be nice.
I did hear that the draft might be reinstated.
That would suck for the younger generation.
We should, but I doubt that we will. Slim chance with Trump but still a chance tho... IMHO.
Sweating it out in the Midwest! Global warming at its finest…
America First!
American Empire Second!
Don't let the state become the ruler of the world, it is better for the state to protect its own people and accept the complaints of its people who are experiencing difficulties. Because in our own country there are still many things that must be fought for for its people.
There are many countries lacking democracy and the USA is ready to install a "democracy" in some places for exchange of some oil, gas, or just power...
I honestly don't think so, that will always show that it is a power and that it has power.
