I recall him saying something about how political SN would get during the election.
I don't feel like it's overwhelming, but some people seem very sensitive to it whereas I actually find it interesting.
reply
I generally avoid other social media platforms due to politics, among other topics. I look forward to the end of the election cycle.
reply
Do you feel like it's crowding out other discussions or is it just annoying having it around?
reply
Mostly the latter. Sometimes it seems like too many topics turn political in the discussion, but that happens IRL too, with certain people anyway. People must like it though, since it still happens and gets zapped here on SN. It's just not for me. I prefer the bitcoin/technology-centric discussions the most.
reply
I usually dip out of discussions when that happens, too.
reply
Some opinions are interesting, but there are some people who only want their opinion to be heard. Quite radical, if I say so myself.

I'd say that's pretty common, regardless of topic. Most people prefer talking to listening.
reply
True. But it is nice to hear everyones opinion and gauge the atmosphere.
reply
I do feel it has gotten more political heavy after the trump shooting.
