Do any of you remember this classic from 1977? the Dire Straits' big opener, Sultans of Swing, was a real blast and got me into this music. Mark Knopfler is still active and just released a new album a few weeks ago, but is no longer touring. A style-defining, unique sound, voice and guitar always recognizable in the general noise of our time. Great music

Yupp! Knopfler was really amazing but these days I madly love this guitarist.
view on youtu.beAmazing. You know that I live in Málaga?? I love Flamenco
This is amazing! I didn't know you love there! I also love Flamenco. We all Indians do. Here's one Bollywood song that's loved too much. I think it's got some good flamenco in it.

I guess it was their 90s comeback and a kind of a re-branding
Classic is right!
Nice song with guitar! I love guitar so much. Who is tour favourite guitarist? Mine is Eddie Van Halen.
Bill Frisell all day for me!

I travelled over 20 years across Europe to see him play. What a time
Classic, to introduce the initiated to Knopflet, I assume?

I'm not a huge music guy, but I love this song. When I was in high school, my grandpa gave me his car and this was one of the tapes that came with it.
Nice. Really nice. My dad was a great Jazz aficionado. And Pink Floyd
Oh hell yes sir!

How could you not zap this classic
An all-time classic.
Mary Spender and Leo Moracchioli did a fun metal (well, metal-lite) cover a few years back that I also enjoy a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0RV0kgdqJU
That is the difference between past and present musical instruments. If previously musical instruments were not so complete and still classical, now musical instruments are complete and modern.
Ah by the way: this is Mark Knopfler, 47 years later:
