I think it is good. Why do people need masks to protest if their point to protest is legal. The law should clearly define that 'Noone is allowed to protest wearing a mask'.
What gives the government the right to control what you are wearing? What about privacy rights? Do you give them up if you exercise your right to protest? And, it's not a question of need. It's your right to choose what you wear.

I didn't say that I'm fully in favour of it. The law should be described properly.
It's not for government only but it's also for safeguarding ourselves from criminals. I've seen people hiding faces behind masks and doing serious crimes. Protesting is a right but a peaceful protest openly. Why to hide faces? I mean there is no need.
The law should properly describe itself. If it's just 'ban the masks', I'm totally against it.

I don't want to seem as if I'm attacking you. I think it's maybe a cultural thing. In the US we have a tradition of limited government power, at least in theory. Let me ask you. Would you be okay with the government looking at all the money you spend? After all, you don't need to keep that private if you're not doing anything illegal, right? What if the government said it was to protect you?

No, not at all.

In this case I'll simply don't like and protest eithout masks.
Yes, I think it's a cultural thing. In where I live, it was just a very normal thing to do heinous crimes like murder or loot under a burka (the black cloth Muslim woman wear) before 2014. Even police wasn't allowed to ask for their identity. Men used to take benefit of this and used to commit crimes. Till today sometimes they are found doing crimes under a burqa. I think you should just read it.
Also search with the heading on search engine and you will find many other incidents.
Because US doesn't have that many Muslims living and there's no permission to practice Muslim law, you're very safe. That's why you're saying you don't need it.
Anyways, I changed my statement to 'The anti mask law for US is unnecessary as their are no crimes jnder a mask.'

That's a good point. I don't have that experience. I think @Coinsreporter has had your experience. I could sort of see his point regarding election ID

Thanks for understanding. I also understood your point. SN seems a very good place for healthy discussion. Elsewhere, I would have been killed for just disagreeing on anything.
Yes, I and @coinsreporter are from the same place.
