The greatest hazard of all, losing one’s self, can occur very quietly in the world, as if it were nothing at all. No other loss can occur so quietly; any other loss - an arm, a leg, five dollars, a wife, etc. - is sure to be noticed.
–Søren Kierkegaard
Navigating a world that dictates your identity, beliefs, and actions can be incredibly challenging. The quest for meaning is a continuous journey, yet if you discover your genuine, authentic self, cherish it fiercely. The weight of external pressure, criticism, and the absence of understanding and support from those around you, along with the sensation of being excluded, ignored, or rejected, can be excruciatingly painful. It may be all too easy to conform once more, but doing so could lead to the loss of your true self, which can feel akin to a living death.
