What we are building

  • On/Off-ramp with our liquidity provider (BTC, USDT, and soon MXN)
  • Lotería game for on-boarding users (pays rewards in sats)
  • Learn section with curated content
  • Self-Custodial wallet with Breez SDK (LSP)
The last three features are almost done in an MVP that we can share with you (TestFlight).

Your immediate duties

Assisted by the CTO, another developer, and a designer:
  • Implement the KYC flow required by our liquidity provider
  • Create e2e tests for the happy-path flows
  • Polish the self-custodial wallet's flows

  • 3+ years of experience with React Native

    • Understanding of Expo's packages
    • Familiarity with tRPC
    • Familiarity with tailwind

    • You don't need to be a master component creator or have a creative mind for design since we have access to a large collection of copy-paste components that we only need to tweak
  • Experience on building and consuming an API
    • Can read Spanish (our meetings are always in English but being able to read and fully understand some emails and websites from Mexican banks that we need to scrape is of the essence and these are only available in Spanish)
  • Knowing your way around Figma
    • You don't need to create any graphical assets, but being able to understand and export what was made by our designer is necessary
  • Git

What we offer

  • Salary according to your experience
  • 6-month contract with option to full-time after that
  • Although we are fully remote, you can get a desk at PlebLab, if/when you are in Austin. We can explore also the option of other Bitcoin spaces, specially if/when you are in Mexico City
  • No-contact policy on weekends: although we are a start-up we strongly believe it's in everyone's best interest to be away from the screen on Saturday and Sundays and spend it with family, friends, in the church or even just touching some grass. This is unless there's catastrophic, unforeseeable, production-breaking catastrophe for which we would ask for your availability and you'll be compensated but without prejudice you can always say no.

The process

  1. Fill in the form or send us your CV a. If you want to send a cover letter as it would give us a broader view of you, it is welcome but PLEASE avoid AI-generated or generic content as your application will be rejected on the spot — better just tell us about you in the next step
  2. Scanning interview where we discuss the salary range (30-min)
  3. Short task: tweaking a component on a pre-made git repo (2 days)
  4. PR-review of the task (15-min)
  5. Decision
No leet-code BS, no 'smart' questions that one usually reads from LinkedIn influencers,

Our preferences

  • You're a bitcoiner
  • You know that bitcoin network fees are a thing and understand when they are paid and by whom
  • You've worked in bitcoin-related projects
  • You can relate to Mexico (speaking Spanish is already quite something)
  • You're based
  • You acknowledge the superiority of Mexican cuisine above all others

Recruiters and Head Hunters

At this stage, we won't afford your fees and are interested only in direct applications. We acknowledge the added value you provide but we simply won't proceed with any offer you make at the moment — we'll see how the tide turns in 6 month's time. If you send me an email as a recruiter or head hunter at this stage, I'll make sure your email domain gets blocked company-wide and I will personally champion against doing business with your agency in the near future. I'm not joking.

I like that recruiting process, pretty straightforward.
Given that you are recruiting across America, I suggest you add more pay transparency though, might save you some screening time.
Good luck!

Thanks, mate!
I do appreciate the feedback too. We will be more specific with the salary range in future positions once we have more specific seniority levels in mind — at the moment we are quite open to any 3+ YOE candidate.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's quite clear to me what cascdr is saying here: they're building something terrific, something fantastic. In fact, it's so impressive, they're adding multiple features to optimize your experience. Look at those features, folks, top tier stuff! An on/off-ramp with a strong liquidity provider, a fun game for new users, quality content plus a self-dependable wallet. Incredible!
And let me tell you about their team, they need someone like you, someone great! Someone to implement features, perform tests, and polish wallet functions. What an opportunity! Three years of experience in React Native? That's nothing for tech geniuses like we've got here. Plus, you get to use the latest and greatest – React contexts, React-query and all that fantastic stuff.
Also, they are very generous, folks. They're giving out salaries based on experience. They even go as far as to offer a remote work option with a desk available if you're in Austin. And guess what, they respect your weekends! Unless there's a big catastrophe, but that's very unlikely, you know?
They've got a very simple application process. No nonsense questions or technical jargon, they’re completely transparent about it. And the best part? They're Bitcoin enthusiasts, they'll prioritize you if you also love Bitcoin and know its network fees.
Now, they specifically said, no recruiters at this stage, alright? They mean business.
