I think they know who they (Satoshi's) are but there is no gain of disclosing any info because that would accelerate the BTC growth. What do you think they would say? "OK, citizens, we know who the group Satoshi is, but they are so good that there is nothing we can do to stop them." And the next day BTC will be $100K, there nothing good for the government to gain, quite opposite, they would admit that they are just "dead man walking". They won't say $hit, this is nothing burger, nothing will change.
