I found Mutiny to be my best option for mobile nostr zapping. I'm wondering what other wallet options people are using, now that we're losing Mutiny? (Please no Mutiny wasn't self custodial arguments. That's beside the point now.😀)
Everyone saying Alby. So may Alby is best. But mutiny was good for sure. Because it is shutting down so have to switch.

Alby hub for sure!
reply
You can use Alby right now. until you find better one
reply
Alby requires a log in. They ask for your email address. I would prefer another option.
reply
I believe, @DarthCoin can suggest a better option.
reply
Alby Hub
reply
Is that non custodial? I do t know much about it, but I believe it's supposed to be, right?
reply
Yes, you hold your own keys

Are you willing to maintain a node?
If so, you run a start9 server with LND, manage channels through Ride The Lightning or Terminal.
If not, Breez, Phoenix, Zeus mobile node.
ShockWallet by @justin_shocknet is also very promising, but still alpha software.

I also recommend Alby Hub on your self hosted node of course, makes receiving to ln address easy and they have excellent UX.
reply
Note that the Alby lightning addresses are still custodial as their webserver can pass any invoice they please and the sender has no idea who it's going to... and the receiver won't know if they got intercepted...
We're close to solving this in Pub by using Nostr for signing a backwards-compatible successor to Lightning Address

I will check out shockwallet.

Great to hear, looking forward to try test that out.

I do have a node. I like Primal mobile, and I think you can only connect with NWC right now. I use Zeus to manage my node. Can I connect re NWC to Zeus? Phoenix and Breez are not options where I live.

You need to run the NWC service on your node, then you can create a NWC connection string that you give to Primal.
reply
Great information. Thanks
reply
Hopefully next week our dashboard push will be live and you can manage the node from ShockWallet
reply
Similar to Zeus? Can you connect shockwallet via NWC?
reply
Sorta, but we use kind 21000 which is much more capable than NWC
Demo here, pairing is as simple as pasting an nprofile:

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

0xChat has built in zap wallet/ecash native to the client, works well 🤙
reply
Have to say SN. They are doing a good job holding my sats.
reply
SN wallet won't be used much longer. That's why they're doing all the preparation work these last few months.
reply
But the stuff that is on SN will stay on SN, right? As long as you dont put in over 100k. Or did something new develop?
reply
You can remove your sats, but SN wallet is custodial. We all will need non custodial solutions to zap and receive pretty soon. Don't worry. @k00b and @ek will give us plenty of notice and advice.
reply
Wait, I am confused. If I never remove my sats from here, in theory it could accumulate forever, right?
reply
The way I understand it, there will come a day, not long in the future, when you can no longer get zapped sats in your wallet. You will be able to get zapped and accumulate tokens known as cowboy credits, but not real sats. The sats you already have in your wallet are yours, and you can withdraw them at any time.
reply
Are cowboy credits tradeable? Will there be a mass exodus because of this?
reply
This has been pretty well explained in posts over the past few months. Do a search in meta. I don't want to give you incorrect information. As far as mass exodus goes, right now the site has a custodial wallet. You will now have the opportunity to hold your sats in a non custodial way. It's an improvement. I don't expect any exodus at all.
I just use alby. Not sure what the best self custodial option is. Looking forward to seeing if stackers have a better option.
reply
You can't use Alby on mobile, can you? I use it for desktop.
reply
Maybe only on Apple if you have Zapple pay linked. I am not sure if it works on android.

What's the best mobile nostr client?
reply
I like Primal now. I used to use Amethyst, but Primal seems smoother to me. In fairness, I haven't used Amethyst in a while.
reply
I use primal on my desktop, but I haven't used it the mobile app.
reply
I think they did a great job on the mobile app. They have a built in wallet, but they want a log in with an email. I'm trying to avoid that. I hate log ins.
reply
I saw someone else mention the email log in. Why would they do that? App store compliance?
reply
I don't know. Maybe?
reply
Yes, yesterday I also wanted to use Amethyst, but after getting several suggestions from friends, I finally migrated to Primal.
reply
Yep Thai will be our options
