In the United States, student debt used to be incredible. A friend's parents went into debt. Well, I remember that after graduating, they also paid. But I remember seeing a news story about someone who was complaining to the state that he had paid off all of his daughter's college debt. Then the state started forgiving all of the student debt and no one responded to him for that.
