No, it's not divided as it's divided in India. The Apartheid is so much different than casteism here.
The society isn't divided too much there, but it's more of a propoganda that's been running after it was abolished. People do not treat one another the same way as they used to pre 1900 world.
Saying people don't treat others like they did pre1900 says nothing about whether or not influence remains. Under this flawed logic, if I beat you about the head everyday, but then stop, you would say those beatinga no longer have influence. They no longer have the same influence, but there is influence regardless.
