I think it's more difficult for your generation. I think in today's world it's hard to draw the line between coming across as assertive while avoiding looking like a stalking creep.

Well, that, and girls are literally courtes to 24/7 via "socials", making it increasingly hard for someone to make a catch "offline".

In my younger years I was a big flirt. I used to actually do pretty well meeting women. I just wasn't very good at keeping women because I was so focused on my life.

Ah, a player @grayruby's past houses a little playboy, huh?🤭
reply
I wouldn't go so far as playboy and I definitely wasn't suave in my late teens and early twenties. I started to have more success with women when I grew up a little in my mid twenties before I got married, divorced and had a kid and got married again in the span of a few years in my late 20s, early 30s. Life comes at you fast.

I was just kidding, Gravy-Gray 🤭
Divorced, a child with the ex and then married again to another?
What happens that so many people choose to leave the SO AFTER being married?!
reply
No my first marriage only lasted around 6 months (maybe it was 8 but you get the idea- crashed before take off). My current wife and I got together soon after that as she was coming off a quick divorce/bad relationship as well and we kind of bonded over that. My son was born about a year and half after we got together. We didn't actually officially get married until years later but for the context of the timeline it's Married, Divorced, Kid, Married within the span of say 5 years.

Ai, heartbreak before love, a bittersweet something!

All worked out in the end. My ex got remarried as well eventually and she has a little girl. Nothing against her. She was about 5 years younger than me. Probably too young to settle down at the time and I was too focused on my life.
She was Roman Catholic Italian so as @siggy47 can probably attest there is pressure from the family if you are going to be in a serious relationship to get married. We never should have gotten married. Live and learn.

That sounds like an Old School Italian family. First or aecond generation?
Hm, you mention that often, what where you focused on?
Ai, pressure is never a good guide in these things...
