I am discovering that stacker news is the best place to bounce around ideas and get reactions from people. I trust it more then Twitter. there is still some useless negativity on stacker news, but much less. do you think that is due to fewer people being on stacker news then twitter, or because of the cost of posting?

I think the costs are so low right now as to be irrelevant. Just a fun proof-of-concept and training wheels as we evolve into the real deal.

I believe, due to small size, we simply have not caught the attention of the activist machinery that patrols the western world. They simply cannot allow free people to congregate anywhere without infiltration.

Rest assured, they are coming.

I think with any community, IRL or online, things start off great when they are small and the dynamics change unpredictably with they reach scale. "Subs" should help with this to a certain extent if people are able to branch off into smaller close-knit communities.

We see this often on reddit where some of the biggest subs evolve/devolve depending on the size and the nature of the content being posted and personalities of the moderators.

SN/reddit and other forums are more geared towards following topics / hobbies and communities whereas twitter/IG/tiktok is more about following personalities. So there is more of an incentive in the latter social media platforms to perform to grow an audience.

The eternal September will come to SN, it's inevitable

I think it is probably because there are fewer people here right now. As it stands, with btc so low, the cost of posting, commenting and tipping is pretty low. This dynamic will surely change as SN grows in popularity and influence, and when btc price rebounds. I hope to see the day when a 1 sat tip is substantial

Still we cannot compare SN with Twitter, we are smaller...

I think it's because its still so new and we're all so jacked to help push bitcoin, but we'll see, I think there should be a cost to communication because it means if you not adding value you're losing value :)

I've learned a bunch from SN and it's helped TBM with our content creation and ideas for topics we should be tackling
