Very exciting to see a boat traveling up stream. They had a very cool trade connectivity system several additions ago that got abandoned and I've been hoping to see it come back.
Navigable rivers are a game-changer :) I also really like that you can swap civilizations between the 3 ages in this new version.

I didn't catch that. If they have the details up somewhere, I haven't looked at them yet.
I've always wanted them to have civilizations that can fracture into other civs: i.e. you start as Rome, but if you overextend then Byzantium might splinter off.

Bridging the gap between the ages of antiquity, exploration and modern. AI will unlock the potential of other civilizations. These civilizations are contingent upon the chosen civilization from the antiquity era. For instance, you could start with Rome and progress to the Mongols if you have a surplus of horses.
Civilizations announced so far include:
Antiquity: Aksum, Egypt, Maya, Maurya, Rome
Exploration: Shawnee, Norman, Chola
Modern: France, Mughal
