Very exciting to see a boat traveling up stream. They had a very cool trade connectivity system several additions ago that got abandoned and I've been hoping to see it come back.

Navigable rivers are a game-changer :) I also really like that you can swap civilizations between the 3 ages in this new version.

I didn't catch that. If they have the details up somewhere, I haven't looked at them yet.
I've always wanted them to have civilizations that can fracture into other civs: i.e. you start as Rome, but if you overextend then Byzantium might splinter off.

Bridging the gap between the ages of antiquity, exploration and modern. AI will unlock the potential of other civilizations. These civilizations are contingent upon the chosen civilization from the antiquity era. For instance, you could start with Rome and progress to the Mongols if you have a surplus of horses.

The Civ franchise is fantastic, and while there's no way to know if Civ VII will live up to the standards of the last three, it's certainly worth keeping an eye on.

If you like that type of gameplay then it's great. I think it's a creative and fun series of games. For my taste it lacked variety. I prefer Total War and Paradox Interactive games.

Are you referring to the Civilization franchise in general or the new version specifically?

Yeah, the game's got a lot going on and it can be a bit overwhelming at first. But it's got a super loyal fanbase and once you get the hang of it, it's really rewarding. It's definitely a niche game, so it's not for everyone. This version though, it's pretty solid. They kept everything fans love about the series while adding some cool new stuff. If you're into story-driven strategy games, you'll dig it.

It is quite possible :) This version has a more aggressive marketing and sales strategy than the previous ones. And it has been 7 years...
