I received this email today:
SECURITY UPDATE Fake Email Warning - Don’t Withdraw to "Trust Wallet"
We’ve received reports of a fake phishing email with the subject “Data Breach Notice.”
That email is not legitimate.
If you received it, you should ignore it, report it as spam, and delete it.
BE AWARE
Never move funds, Bitcoin or otherwise, at the direction of anyone other than yourself.
Never add a wallet address to your account unless you created the wallet.
Never share any security code received by text, email, or phone, with anyone for any reason.
Never share your 12 or 24 word seed phrase, if a hacker has this they can take your Bitcoin.
Always check the email address of the sender. Swan emails come from an email address ending with “@swanbitcoin.com.”
Always assume emails, texts, and phone calls asking for sensitive information or directing you to take urgent action are not genuine until proven otherwise.
Contact companies only via officially listed email addresses and phone numbers.
Thank you, Swan Security Team
P.S. Email addresses being targeted were likely obtained in 2022 during a wave of attacks against email communication vendors serving dozens of crypto and Bitcoin companies, including Swan.
I saw this notification come in and I was like FFS Swan, can you guys just get your act together. Then a little while later, I read it and didn’t suspect anything until I saw a seed phrase that I was supposed to “recover” my Swan funds into and I only had a week to do it. Then I knew it was complete bullshit when I saw the CTA and sender domains. Thankfully I don’t keep any funds with them, but I bet a lot of people fell for this scam.
It’s kinda strange that they ask you to set up a new wallet but I guess this makes it more believable. It would be funny if they sent the same seed phrase to everyone and someone rugged the attacker’s funds.

What will you do now??
reply
Oh, I stopped using Swan more than a year ago. I'm still on their email list.
reply
Okay, no problem, just ignore it. And don't click on any suspicious links. Because you know it better than me that How to avoid scams.

Swan suspended your account?
reply
First they barred me from withdrawing my bitcoin during the whole prime trust debacle. I eventually got it off. Then, they claimed NY State had rescinded the agreement allowing older, "grandfathered" accounts.
reply
Wow
They rescinded the grandfather accounts! Bait and switch or something lame
reply
NY may have forced their hand.

Wish scammers would just leave their moms basement and go get a real job
