The commission's primary goal is to identify ways to eliminate fraud and improper payments, according to portions of the speech viewed by journos at WSJ. Read more at Zerohedge...

Adding another department is definitely the right way to streamline the government.

I think it's just to audit the bidenomics!
On Elon's suggestion! He sounded like he has endorsed Musk in a greater way.
reply
There's nothing so permanent as a temporary government program.

Well said! 😁

Credit to the late great Milton Friedman for that line.

Milton Friedman
I rank him very high though I didn't know that he said these lines. I like him for he advocated free market above all. Why do you like him specifically.
reply
I like him for the same reason. He was probably the leading free market voice in the 70's, along with Ayn Rand. I watched his great series Free to Choose, when I was first getting into these ideas. It's fantastic.
I'm not particularly fond of his actual academic work or the policy reforms he was involved with.

Amazing! We're turning out to be very much like minded!
Milton Friedman is my favorite economist/intellectual
Only if Ron Swanson was in charge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wIOYOYvyiE
reply
YouTube won't show the video. Jokes on them, because I can see it in my mind.
The right approach is to find a Ron Swanson and make him the Secretary of Firing People and Liquidating Assets.

What does he nean that he can form a commission before he wins the election? @Undisciplined @siggy47
reply
I don't know exactly (Trump says lots of stuff that isn't well thought out), but he can get the group together before the election. They wouldn't be officially appointed until after he's sworn in, but they could start working before that.

What! Trump's going to adopt Elonomics because he invited him for an interview on X!
reply
Elonomics! This is new addition to the all nicknames for economics.

I think that currently in the US electoral contest Trump was really trying to promise everything to get elected, the Democrats do not know what to do and the electorate has a difficult decision.
reply
Democrats probably do not need to do anything at this point, just hope that the majority of voters is not as dumb as Trump thinks it is.
reply
I've read one more article about US elections recently that headlined "Majority of crypto people will vote for Trump".

Shitcoiners
reply
Yupp! They meant all shitcoiners and some bitcoiners as well.
reply
Yes, you're right Trump's just promising everything right now. Yes, I also think that Democrats don't have a candidate who can challenge Trump or at least stand against his vocalism.
reply
Challenge him in giving promises?
reply
can do anything for votes.

We need Elon to do exactly what Javier Milei did. Literally throw away 95% of government programs. It won't be popular amongst the statists, but it is the first step needed to reduce our deficit spending.
reply
He just somehow thinks that Trump will always care for his suggestions! Let him be the prez and see how he ditches Elon!

'Department of Government Efficiency' sounds like an oxymoron, but best of luck to both of them.
