I think the general direction is a good initiative. Whatever the outcome or the feasibility is, it exposes hypocrisy. In the possibility of it not getting fully-funded or refused, have some kind of report of the mechanisms of what happened and build support from there.

Why nostr need a billboard to be promoted and make unnecessary noise? Remember Satoshi's words when Wikileaks announced they will start accepting Bitcoin? December 11 2010: "Wikileaks has kicked the hornet’s nest, and the swarm is headed towards us".
I think this idea of a billboard in Brazil is not good and will create even more problems. Better a natural adoption, only for those that really need it and know how to use it. Let the masses and the politicians into the darkness, clueless.

I have a question. After all this fud with Musk and X, do you think Brazilian government would let you run an ad campaign where you put the slogan "censorship resistant Social Media".

This is good work. Keep it up. May be we'll soon a world where Nostr dominates all social media.

I'm very curious to all the ad proposals and how it will look like!
I also would like to mention the situation / context is different in Brasil than in here (The Netherlands) were the billboard is currenty running (only for the coming week). My goal with the ad here was just to create an example how we could grow curiosity. The people here don't have a problem of platforms being banned (not yet...) and seeing their voice / reach taken away from them. I think the data portability of your own data is something will resonate much more among the people here for example. In Brasil there are different problems with more urgency I think.

The concerns raised by @Akg10s33 & @DarthCoin are fair. Perhaps the message here matters a lot and there's a way of piquing curiosity without kicking the proverbial hornet's nest?
E.g. instead of saying "Nostr is free social media," it could be something much more subtle. I'm sure @geyserfund @metamick are open to ideas.

Make it subtle yes. Make people curious. I won’t make it political or even idealogical.
Don’t push on it. Pull is 🔑

I really like the idea that a billboard or information board can be placed about the Nostr protocol so that more people would be aware of and have access to the freedom of a (social network if it can be called that in any way) that gives you total freedom and without anyone being able to censor you!! 💪 On the other hand, warning the enemy so that they can be aware of our movements, I consider it a mistake!! It is better that open-minded people who are not asleep or indoctrinated by the system join us and use the Nostr protocol 💪💪

I think it's better to create something great on nostr and promote that.
