The Venezuelan reality is exhausting and wearing us down. When we think we are moving forward, we go back to the starting point and fall back into frustration, despair and demobilization. • On that plane, Edmundo González and his wife Mercedes López arrive in Spain as political exiles.
Much has happened in the last few hours in Venezuela. Here I summarize what is known so far (12:40 PM):
  • Edmundo González is already in Spain as an asylum seeker. He arrived on Sunday, as confirmed by the Madrid government, accompanied by his wife on a Spanish Air Force plane. The formal request for asylum is for him and his wife Mercedes López
  • The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, confirmed that he accommodated Edmundo González in the embassy in Caracas before staying at the Spanish diplomatic headquarters. The foreign minister added that, at the beginning of September, Edmundo González announced his intention to leave the residence and the country.
  • María Corina Machado said that she fled to protect her “freedom, her integrity and her life.” She said Gonzalez will continue to fight for the opposition from Spain, while she will continue from Venezuela, promising that on January 10, 2025, he will be sworn in as the next president of Venezuela.
  • “Today is a sad day for democracy in Venezuela,” declared Josep Borrell, head of foreign policy of the European Union. “In a democracy, no political leader should be forced to seek asylum in another country.”
  • The news was released via Instagram, by the vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, assuring that the authorities gave Gonzalez a safe conduct with the aim of restoring “political peace.”
  • The departure of the 75-year-old politician, seen by the US, the EU and other powers in the region as the winner of the elections, came a week after the Venezuelan authorities issued an arrest warrant against him, accusing him of conspiracy and other crimes.
• Delcy Rodríguez announced (September 7 at 10pm) through her Instagram account that Edmundo González Urrutia has been seeking asylum in the embassy of the Kingdom of Spain and is on his way to that country under the figure of political asylum.
Why would an opponent have to have safe-conduct passes from the government and ask for political asylum? Normal in a democracy?
"Today, September 7th, has left from the country the opposition citizen Edmundo González Urrutia, who having voluntarily took refuge in the embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Caracas since Several days ago, he requested that government the processing of political asylum. In this sense, once the events have occurred, relevant contacts between the two governments, having fulfilled the extremes of the case and in compliance with international law, Venezuela has granted the due safe-conducts for the sake of tranquility and political peace of the country. This conduct reaffirms the respect for the Law that has primacy in the performance of the Republic Bolivarian of Venezuela in the community international. In the next few hours we will continue to report."
If Delcy Rodríguez was the first to report it and the Spanish government supported her, there is no doubt that it was an agreement between Zapatero-Sanchez and Maduro, with very certain coercion and threats to Edmundo González.
The government of Pedro Sánchez instead of removing all the corrupt and children of corrupt and repressive people who are in Spain, including the son of Elvis Amoroso and the children of Padrino López, helps the Maduro regime to banish the elected president Edmundo González.
Pedro Sanchez's minister says there is no agreement between the Spanish government and the Maduro regime, adding that it is "just another asylum request."
If this were the case, why did they go looking for him in a Spanish Air Force plane?
• A few hours ago Alberto Ray wrote: "A hostage is never the best negotiator." When Maria Corina Machado commented that Edmundo González Urrutia was subject to blackmail and coercion, she was referring to the fact that the regime used the 24-hour siege against the Argentine residence to pressure the president-elect and let him know that they were capable of attacking those 6 Venezuelans who had taken refuge there. That there would be no safe place for him or his family inside Venezuela. Not even the Netherlands embassy where he had taken refuge for the last month. The regime decided to threaten Argentina and also Brazil (the country that guards that diplomatic headquarters). Before learning about Edmundo's exile, on Saturday night the patrols of the regime's henchmen who were harassing the members of the María Corina Team protected by Argentina and Brazil had already withdrawn. Corpoelec even immediately arrived to restore the electric service. Are those 6 Venezuelans protected in that embassy? Of course not! They are hostages, just as much as that diplomatic headquarters is. Maduro besieged one embassy to pressure another, while I am informed that the SEBIN continued to harass its thugs in several ambassadors' residences in the Venezuelan capital. Edmundo is already on Spanish soil. The agreement would have been the release of political prisoners. Maduro's prosecutor will confirm in a press conference whether they comply with it or don't give a damn about most of their promises. • Edmundo González's departure from Venezuela could be something very bad, or something very good. Everything depends on his behaviour after leaving the country.
If he takes advantage of his departure to become more vocal and ask for more aggressive international support (even with international treaties such as the TIAR or others), it could be positive; if he goes out to follow the agenda of Zapatero, Sánchez and company, it will be disastrous. •
"The exile of Edmundo GonzálezUrrutia, president-elect of Venezuela reveals several realities. The supposed "mediation" of rulers close to Maduro has been an operation to give oxygen to the dictatorship, intensifying repression and intimidation, with the aim of expelling the winner of the elections and strengthen the oppressive regime. Now, the persecution focuses on silencing Maria Corina, leader of the Resistance Democratic. The international community must act to ensure its integrity within Venezuela until the transition is achieved democratic. Allow the narco-dictator to remain in power. Power represents a threat to all democracies in Latin America and the Caribbean, since would allow those who follow the script of the Forum of São Paulo consolidate repressive regimes, ensure the re-election of rulers and parties, while they take over other countries and suppress the freedom of expression.
It is time for the international community to act decisively and forcefully to put an end to the Maduro dictatorship. Otherwise, the worst wave of migration and repression in the region in the last 60 years is looming." •
"To the Venezuelans,
Edmundo González Urrutía, President-elect of Venezuela, has left the country and is in Spain.
Following our historic victory on July 28, 2024, the regime unleashed a brutal wave of repression against all citizens, classified as State terrorism by the IACHR, which included all types of attacks against the President-elect and those around him.
His life was in danger, and the increasing threats, summons, arrest warrants and even attempts at blackmail and coercion to which he has been subjected, demonstrate that the regime has no scruples and no limits in its obsession with silencing him and trying to subdue him.
Faced with this brutal reality, it is necessary for our cause to preserve his freedom, his integrity and his life.
This operation by the regime and its allies is further evidence of their criminal nature, which delegitimizes and sinks them more and more every day. But, once again, they were wrong. Their attempted coup against Popular Sovereignty will not come to fruition.
On January 10, 2025, President-Elect Edmundo González Urrutía will be sworn in as Constitutional President of Venezuela and Commander-in-Chief of the National Armed Forces.
Let this be very clear to everyone: Edmundo will fight from outside alongside our diaspora and I will continue to do so here, alongside you.
Serenity, courage and firmness!
Venezuelans, this fight is UNTIL THE END and victory is ours."
3 important facts about Maria Corina Machado predictable statement.
1- She didn't show her face. What happened with Edmundo is so far the most important event after her trump card in the minutes. Nobody can say that it is more important to show your face in a live broadcast with La Divaza than at this moment when millions of Venezuelans have their souls broken and hanging in the balance. At times like this, true leaders show their face. People need to see their eyes, to hear the leader. To be taken with a grain of salt.
2- She took too long to give the message, but her entire propaganda machine prepared the ground to appease people's frustration. They did it by insinuating what she is now confirming, it is a kind of nano "Overton Window" of rapid action for extreme cases.
3- She contradicts herself by stating that Edmundo's life is in too much danger in Venezuela, which is true, but incompatible with the fact that he will return in January as if nothing had happened to be president, among other things no less important.
With all the other qualifications that he attributes to the regime (also true), how is it possible that the same regime allowed the entry of a military flight from Spain to give political asylum to Edmundo in that country, when they themselves wanted to arrest him arbitrarily? This would only be possible under an agreement and you don't have to be very intelligent to suspect that the deal is not that he goes on vacation and returns to power in January.
I leave the definition of political asylum so that it is understood that what Maria Corina affirms is illogical. According to official sources, Mr. González requested asylum, it was not that he escaped as Leopoldo "escaped." It was the regime that served as intermediary between the LEFT government of Spain and Mr. Edmundo to be officially banished and I say official, because everything was under the knowledge of both parties. The fact was reported as a victory by the regime and not by the opposition, that is serious, very serious.
It is technically IMPOSSIBLE that in a hostile territory, a dictatorship or tyranny, as the opposition itself calls it (and with good reason), grants a safe conduct to a politician so that he can go and spend Christmas and then return to ignore what that same dictatorship has described as a "crime", a "crime" for which he was granted asylum. That makes no sense and it makes even less sense when the country where the politician receives asylum is an ally of the regime, even if it says that the asylum seeker is a hero. • ####September 7, 2024

The Argentine Embassy in Caracas, protected by Brazil, has been under siege for more than 24 hours. Regime officials have blocked access to the diplomatic headquarters, which has also been without electricity for 24 hours.
The Government of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay expresses its concern over the decision of the Government of Venezuela to immediately and unjustifiably revoke the approval granted to the Federative Republic of Brazil to exercise the representation of the interests of the Argentine Republic and the custody of its assets and facilities in that country.
This situation constitutes a violation of international law and a new violation of the rights of Venezuelan citizens seeking asylum in the facilities of the Argentine diplomatic representation, who have already been denied safe passage to leave Venezuelan territory and are currently victims of a permanent siege by the regime's security forces.
The Government of Uruguay denounces that the actions of the Venezuelan regime are in violation of the 1954 Caracas Convention on Diplomatic Asylum and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and holds local authorities responsible for the safety of asylum seekers.
Uruguay expresses its solidarity with the Argentine Republic and the Federative Republic of Brazil in these difficult times, and hopes for a resolution of the current situation in accordance with international law and the tradition of peaceful coexistence among Latin American nations.
The Government of the Republic of Paraguay regrets and rejects the unilateral decision taken by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to revoke the authorization granted to Brazil for the custody of the official Residence of the Argentine Republic in Caracas, violating the principles enshrined in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The Republic of Paraguay urges the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to respect international standards.
Likewise, Paraguay recognizes the Federative Republic of Brazil for the representation assumed in safeguarding the interests and custody of the real estate of the Argentine Republic in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The Government of Chile expresses its concern over the decision of the Government of Venezuela to revoke, immediately and without justification, the authorization it had granted to Brazil to provide protection and custody to the Argentine Embassy in Caracas.
This represents a serious disregard for the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963.
We express our rejection of this decision and our solidarity with the governments of Argentina and Brazil for the situation they are currently facing. • The Maduro dictatorship has announced that it has revoked the authorization for Brazil to take over custody of the Argentine embassy in Caracas.
Meanwhile, Brazil confirms that, as is correct, it will not leave the embassy until another State takes over custody.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has taken the decision to revoke, with immediate effect, the approval granted to the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil to exercise the representation of the interests of the Argentine Republic and its nationals in Venezuelan territory, as well as the custody of the premises of the diplomatic mission, including its assets and archives, as announced in the joint communiqué dated August 5, 2024. This decision has been notified to the states concerned through diplomatic channels.
Venezuela is forced to make this decision motivated by the evidence of the use of the facilities of this diplomatic mission for the planning of terrorist activities and assassination attempts against the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and against the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, by the fugitives from Venezuelan justice who remain within it.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as the receiving State, takes this measure in accordance with, and in full compliance with, the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963.
The Brazilian government was surprised to hear from the Venezuelan government that it intends to revoke its consent for Brazil to protect Argentina's interests in Venezuela.
In accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic Relations and Consular Relations, Brazil will remain in charge of the custody and defense of Argentine interests until the Argentine government indicates another State acceptable to the Venezuelan government to exercise the aforementioned functions.
In this context, the Brazilian government emphasizes, under the terms of the Vienna Conventions, the inviolability of the facilities of the Argentine diplomatic mission, which currently house six Venezuelan asylum seekers in addition to assets and archives. • A relative of Karim Khan, head of the International Criminal Court, serves as a defense attorney for dictator Nicolás Maduro before the organization https://informeorwell.com/internacional/familiar-de-karim-khan-jefe-de-la-corte-penal-internacional-funge-como-abogada-defensora-de-nicolas-maduro-ante-el-organismo/ ⬇️ #676132 • In Honduras, crowds are demonstrating against the government of Nicolás Maduro's accomplice, Xiomara Castro, after her relatives were recorded in conversations with drug traffickers negotiating:

Excellent information... and congratulations for your effort!! It is sad to see how everything is part of a perverse and cruel plan where the same government hires a paid opposition like this character Urrutia and as it has always been Maria Corina Machado!! taking advantage of the hope of the people who believe in them as candidates and as an option for a change... and at present something more desperate like the exit to the long-awaited freedom!! that Mr. Urrutia already has the money that the regime paid him... they make a show as if they are going to imprison him and he goes fleeing... when in reality he is going to live the high life in Europe and the poor Venezuelans are trapped for 6 more years!! of hunger and misery... you will see that for the next supposed elections that character returns or a similar one hand in hand with Maria Corina to continue perpetuating that murderous dictator in power!!!
