I am in the mood for something new. I want to watch something kind of dark and heavy. Something along the lines of Midsommar, Joker, Hereditary, There Will be Blood, Mandy, These are dark movies that I really like a lot, but I have seen too many times. Any great suggestions will get some zaps. Let's hear them
The Platform (2019). before watching the film, know that the record for starvation is 382 days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlfooqeZcdY

Clockwork Orange or The House that Jack Built or The Witch
Do not recommend any of these, but it doesn't get any darker than these three films.

My darkest movie ever is probably Requiem for a Dream but I suspect you've seen it.
I get the impression you'd love The Fountain too if you haven't seen it. It's not dark but super good in its own way.
reply
I don't remember The Fountain. I am pretty sure I have seen it and it is in my collection. That's one I will consider.

I watched Requiem for a Dream earlier today. It is a good one. And definitely the vibe and going for. Yes, I am being a number today... Don't tell anyone. 🤫

I have not seen that one since 1990 or so, all I remember that it was scary, dark shit...
Especially when you get some additional info on the ending, better see it first hehe!

Is it psycho from 1960 or psychosis. I did I search online and didn't find it.

My bad, it's psycho, the keyboard played tricks on me hahaha

I figured. Thanks for the suggestion.

ooohh, and of course: Irreversible - Gaspar Noé
but don’t read Wikipedia, it literally spoils the entire film
American film critic Roger Ebert called Irréversible "a movie so violent and cruel that most people will find it unwatchable"

I don't even watch trailers. I like a good surprise. Thanks for the suggestion.

Funny Games - Hanneke

Have you seen Observe and Report? I'm not sure why that came to mind first, but it's great and much darker than you'd expect.
reply
I don't know that one either. Thanks.

Has anyone seen Martyrs? That movie is intense. Don't know if I would watch it again.
