I have to say I am starting to get a kick out of watching politicians appear on CNBC during the morning especially when both Joe Kernen and Andrew Sorkin are there. If you are unaware, Joe Kernen stands pretty solidly on the Right, and Andrew Sorkin on the Left. This morning Squawk Box had Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina on to discuss the Vice Presidental Candidate debate last night.
Sen. Scott was crystal clear in his feeling that if you were picking a "winner" from the debate it was his Party's candidate and his colleague in the Senate J.D. Vance. It needs to be noted that Sen. Scott did not attack or go after anything Waltz said. Instead, he focused on debate basics noting how Waltz from the beginning had to consistently check his notes and was not able to maintain eye contact compared to Vance. Debates and speaking to an audience be it in person or over the television is an extremely strong spot for Vance something that those across the aisle have recognized and given him credit for.
Given that Sen. Scott is a Republican Andrew Sorkin was the one asking question after question after question (when it is a Democrat Joe Kernen does the same thing) and while I have seen many guests over the years get flustered by this Sen. Scott did a fantastic job keeping his cool and making sure to answer all the questions. Towards the end of the interview though Sorkin began speaking more and more over Sen. Scott. The way that Sen. Scott handled the situation both times he pointed it out was chef's kiss perfect.
The first time he was being hit with multiple question and when he would go to answer he would get cut off halfway through and so he calmly stated "well let me finish because you asked a good question" and without giving Sorkin the ability to interject continued with his answer.
Now the second time was one of the smoothest things I have ever seen done during an exchange like this. When explaining what Democrats had done to the average persons spending power Sorkin started to interrupt and kept talking over Sen. Scott explanation. Sorkin than got hit with a cold cold line
"Can I finish my comment? Thanks so much."
Sen. Scott didn't even give Sorkin a chance to address is as he continued on and Sorkin got very quiet. Here is a link to the video the finish my comment statement happens at the 5:20 mark of the video.
It was a beautiful show of being able to clearly speak and not get flustered when someone tries to talk you down. Sen. Scott absolutely crushed it.
Trump caught them by surprise in 16 because he took away [their] most used weapon, the media. He broke all convention, labeled them fake news and exposed them for the propaganda arm of the deep state that they are.
There's still plenty of people that don't care about substance though, and are deranged over Trump's style. So, here we have a new republican party that's broken off from the uni-party media collusion, and has to do the same thing Trump started but more mindful of the tone police. JD Vance has looked really well-prepared in this strategy, sounds like Scott understood the assignment.

I watched so many hours of that show I feel like I know those two. Sorkin is no fool and he's pretty smooth, although he sometimes falls back onto DNC talking points without realizing he's being spoon fed, or so it seems. Another thing. If you watch him on a big screen it can be disconcerting. The iris of one of his eyes is much larger than the other one, and it presents as almost alien.
