Although we have people from all over the world here I don't think I'm wrong when I suggest that most are from the West, or at least in its sphere of influence. This is as it is, me mentioning this is not criticism of any sort, its simply just a probable fact that is important to keep in mind.

The rules based order malfunction

We've all lived far too long under the influence of this certain paradigm, which in many ways has been an anomaly in history. One thing is how mainly the US is bending most nations to their agenda, but another thing is how this shapes our thinking.
In the West we're used to rules & regulations working, and expect courts and regulatory entities to work without too much corruption. Now I do think that most of us seriously misjudge just how corrupt it all has been since forever, but this is part of another discussion.
The problem is that this shapes our thinking... After a decade living most of my time here in Asia as well as decades of constant experience with twisting even rules in the West around I see a need for discussing this, and today it will be in the context of BRICS.

Bending rules

Wherever you go as a Rebel Nomad, or even just traveling through, its a good idea to get a grip on how rules can be bent. In most of the world this is just how it is, and often you'll end up in far worse trouble not going along when called upon!
The West has show us for years on end now how it will treat the tiniest infraction of their totalitarian rules, I think there are few who do international transfers who can go without some underlying distrust or even fear of getting their account closed, or even worse.
Many of us also have seen, or know from direct experience, how utterly inflexible and often vindictive most bureaucrats are once you've overstepped one of their childish lines in the sand.

Bitcoin in practical life

It seems like we'll get a BRICS currency very soon, and if not the block will keep developing, and it will thrive one way or another. Remember that geopolitical success is not measurable on fiat terms like GPD, we're living in a very different world now, where reality has finally kicked in!
I would say that compared to the fiatverse of the West the BRICS is all about resources, and they know it. Not only natural resources, but also human resources, without the utterly corrupting wokeism of course.
Want to have a healthy, relatively unified state? Don't tax your citizens too hard! Also don't attack them for tiny infractions, especially when it will take away trust, inspiration and ability to grow a healthy, resilient economy.
This is the paradigm that I feel pretty certain underpins and instructs the BRICS. Which leads to the interesting prospect of figuring out how Bitcoin will do for the ordinary citizen, or even visitor.
How will they treat you?
As of yet I haven't got too much to share on this front, but when I get around to researching at least the countries that are on my list of possible bases for me as a Rebel Nomad I'll get around to that.
What I'd say in this context is that when I get around to selling the sats that I make, or even set up a business on Bitcoin, then I'll scour the internet for practical solutions for the countries within my reach.
As an example I'd be very interested in setting up a registered company in a jurisdiction where book-keeping is at a minimum, and certainly where they won't care if you transact in Bitcoin. Or even do that, while reporting the transaction as say cash, or where no one cares if you mix your personal account into it.
There will be official rules of course, and maybe we'll see BRICS banning Bitcoin transactions, but how will that be handled on the ground, from day to day, and for tiny ants that just need to make a living?
My thinking here is that as long as you lay low, keep it to a scale that matches making a living as a Rebel Nomad, and handle things as you go along then BRICS will be far easier to deal with than the failing West...
Its the same as dealing with traffic here in Asia, no one really cares about anything as long as you cause an accident, so paying some fines or similar now and then is easier than doing all the paperwork.
Also if you ever cause an accident you'd still have to pay to make people whole, even if you have all your papers in order! Essentially the choice is between just getting along, or causing yourself a lot of work and added expenses...
The West is choking on regulations
I've been running a fair amount of tiny businesses before I got out, so I know far too much about that last part... Even when scaling to handling around 15 people in two companies the administrative part caused by the state totally dragged me down, and ultimately made at least one of them fail when 2020 hit.
There will be no rebuilding ever of the West unless people creating jobs for themselves and especially others finally will again be left alone to do their thing!
I don't think this is possible, maybe the only way is a complete, economical collapse where people finally see the light so that they start doing things without any permission at all.
Of course there will certainly be combinations of jurisdiction, residency and company structures within BRICS that might end up being even worse, and also downright dangerous.
But that is for a Rebel Nomad to map out & decide upon in the future!
personally, i think going on a bitcoin standard should be the move, they'll fuck about with some BRICS currency, or some commodity-backed shit-coin will just fail anyway. look at the euro to gold value over 20 years. it would be an interesting experiment to observe though, if nothing else.
europe would be able to sort itself out if it could just stop making so many rules and let businesses run and develop, it's not hard, just cut the regulations , lay off the crazy taxes and stop fucking about with the money printer on the new green deals

Of course, but what if you needed to start a business or small company right now that could pay your bills inside of maybe half a year?
Yeah in theory it should be easy, but in reality you need a massive shock or failure to even getting started cutting down on the red tape BS...
In the meantime many will need to buidl in weird way, that is my main thinking here :-)

sadly, i doubt anything will change regardless unless it all goes full Argentina and people are ready for a mass chainsaw event
reply
Exactly, that is what I'm thinking too...
Which is why my new career has to be the Rebel Nomad, just getting something new going regardless of how the unraveling plays out!
Having at least a minimum footprint inside of BRICS will therefore be key...

Permissionless networks, why that would never work. /sarcasm off
I think that there are so many jurisdictions that will not give up the control that operating without control and without very clear books will be a no go, there. The governments and other control agencies have to take their vig.

What works in a practical way is often very different from what any theory will describe! :-)
Yes they won't give up the control they already have, of course... But most countries outside of the West never had anything close to the same control in the first place!
Its not necessary the monetary percentage cut they want, its more about how it is extracted... Sane countries realize that they need to give their people some flexibility. Even North Korea eventually accepted local markets again after the hunger catastrophe in the early nineties...
