Last night my friend who is stationed in Quantico, Virginia sent me a few photos of the WILD Northern Lights display and I couldn’t help but share! Sadly I live south of the Capitol in DC so the lights washed out my view.

I'm pretty sure these views weren't very visible with the naked eye. I thought I might have seen a slight pinkish tint to the sky naked eye, but my daughter was looking through her iphone with "night" or dark settings on, and got photos like this.

Seems like its a world wide phenomenon. I see pics going around of the southern lights in Australia too.

Interesting I knew the Northern hemisphere was getting hit but I didn’t think about the southern! Makes sense though!

A past episode has covered this. The cameras in phones are ENHANCING the photos and so the photos may not be exactly what is going on.
