Yeah, it exists and is called anomie. It is another manifestation of the mind virus. Who do you think is promoting this sort of behavior? You know it is coming from somewhere, just where might that be? The result of mass anomie would be cultural breakdown! Who is trying to breakdown our culture in the West? If you can discern the answer to that question, you have found the ENEMY. Once you find the ENEMY you can, at least, identify where else the ENEMY is applying effort to destroy humanity. Once you have identified who the ENEMY is, you can also design countermeasures and apply them.

Who do you think is the enemy?
reply
I think the ENEMY are those who benefit from the social destruction THEY are causing. It seems that they have been the same for a long time, now.

Agreed. Can you be more specific with who you think they are and how to go about fighting them?
reply
Our ruling class, who we cannot criticize.

I’m sort of tracking you, but not much. You’re response is both vague and intense, so I can’t quite follow your train of thought.

I took her talking about the “numbness” and disconnection from life and everything around her as anomie. Sometimes anomie is induced by the purposeful actions of somebody else to disrupt peoples’ lives. Those getting disrupted do not, perhaps, know what is happening to them.
reply
ah, are you saying that all this anomie isn’t coming out of no wear or human frailty, but something else is causing it intentionally?
reply
Yes, but I am somewhat paranoid about some of these “unexplained” things that are happening around us.

Excellent post, you are really right, the world and people are there, as if by inertia, making life empty and cold, the worst thing is that we do not realize it (yes, I include myself).

It is a good post. Put it so well. And I think it can pervade into so many areas, even if generally you aren’t that sort of person. Generally, the numbness toward everything seems like a fear that we really can’t make the world a better place, so don’t try.

Is that the result being sought? That would explain the world getting worse and worse, because people have become indifferent to the idea of embittering themselves.
