Tough to read. I'm happy that he could see a bright side when receiving such a devastating diagnosis. Hawking gave him hope. I didn't know that he had ALS. Until now I had no idea that one could survive that long, regardless of quality of life.

Most conditions can be managed far better than the helth experts can imagine once you take full charge yourself...
But of course ALS is among the worst conditions to find oneself in, especially back then...
