Yes, now law enforcement has taken action at will, so don't be surprised.
Murphy was within his rights to ask, “Am I being detained?” And, “What is the charge?”. Everything else he could have answered, “I do not consent.” Or, “I do not answer questions.” Of course, he shouldn’t say anything after that. This officer aught to be fired with extreme prejudice for doing this. The other officers went above and beyond, too, IMHO. Murphy should sue them for doing all of this under the color of the law after he goes after their bonds.
Interesting, why is SCOTUS seeking to right a wrong for an arrest over an alledged misdemeanor. Well, in this case, a made up charge. I was under the impression that SCOTUS liked to laugh at misdemeanor arrests, all the while allegedly commiting the same such misdemeanors in the past.
The police should be held to a higher standard.
They absolutely should. 100% agree. Fuck law enforcement.
With the money and benefits they "earn", they should be working for us. They need to be taught their place.
