Is there a spotted lake in your vicinity? I happened to read about a spotted lake in Canada yesterday. I don’t know if there is only one such lake or a common enough phenomenon haha
Not in my neck of the woods but I believe there is one in Western Canada. @gnilma might know more.

Yes, we do have a Spotted Lake here in BC. I don't know if there are other spotted lakes in Canada, as Canada is very big. The BC spotted lake is located east of Osoyoos right next to highway 3; it's about an 9km drive east from Osoyoos on highway 3.
