Throwback Thursday is changing, (or rather, I'm trialling something out).
I'm going to give you a bunch of clues and I want you to guess the year and comment a song from that year. Highest ranked correct answer (by "top") gets the bounty. Entries close prior to "Feel Good Friday" Post.

  • Woodstock Music & Art Fair: A 600-acre festival in Bethel, New York that took place from August 15ā€“18, of this year. It featured 32 acts performing in front of nearly 500,000 people. The festival is considered one of the greatest moments in popular music history.
  • The Beatles' rooftop concert: The Beatles' final public performance, which took place on the roof of their London record label Apple Records.
  • Altamont Free Concert: A Rolling Stones concert in Altamont, California, where a fan was stabbed to death by a Hells Angel.
  • Led Zeppelin's debut album: The self-titled debut album by the UK hard rock band was released in January of this year. It went Top Ten in both the US and UK.
  • David Bowie's "Space Oddity": A major hit in the UK that coincided with the a huge world new event.
  • Elvis Presley: Returned to live performances after a seven year absence and hit #1 on the US charts.

Credence Clearwater Revival put out a casual 3 albums that year, including Bayou Country which included this song. In my opinion the single greatest rock vocal performance ever. Gives me goose bumps whenever I hear it.
