Did it ever happen to you? What search terms did you use?

I just tested with the keywords "stablecoins" and "dumb" and lo and behold, in 6 position, #728609 shows up. It'll be nice the day SN shows up before the block of Reddit articles and links to crypto articles optimized for SEO. I tested in incognito mode, so I don't think it's influenced by my usual browsing behavior.

Does SN partake in any SEO tricks?

We don’t do anything special. We just do basic stuff like adding normal metadata. We could do a lot more keyword stuffing but SEO has turned into a bit of a crapshoot I’m told.

I appreciate that you all focus on engineering and the SN protocol rather than SEO/Marketing so much.

I think is better like that. The demiurge will not be able to sneak into out SN posts... fuck'em.

On the other side you better dedicate some time to make better the internal search. If I want to search something in SN I use the SN search not external.
But you need to dedicate some time to make it better, seems to be a bug. If you switch from zaprank to recent, the search page get empty.

reply

Not yet. I've dreamt about it.

At first we need to post here more valuable articles and eventually people start to add to their prompts "sn" or "stackerNews" instead of "reddit".

e.g. "my cat doesn't want to eat when I sing him songs sn"

p.s. were still early, cause even some Bitcoin maxi don't know about stackerNews. Look here https://x.com/pastorcoin/status/1840821881336971642

It's not that kind of site. I highly doubt googs algo is trolling sn heavy

I haven't had anything show up yet in Google from SN. I'll be first to come here and tell everyone if and when I do!

reply

No. But some of my Publish0x articles have shown up before haha

reply

no, but i have google alerts on specific keywords and stacker news pops up quite quickly on it when things are posted that match the alert

reply

I don't use Google, but I noticed that a search for our Stacker Sports Podcast came up with the Stacker News posts first.

reply

From where I am sitting SN is not.

reply

Yes! And I was surprised too

reply

I've seen articles from SN many times there.
