Dave Edmunds - Queen of Hearts

The bus driver was belting out this classic the other day. It really took me back. I always thought this was the original but it's a cover and only known in the UK. Juice Newton did the more worldwide know version.

This song would mashup perfectly with Running Down a Dream by Tom Petty.
reply
Good call. I can hear it, there's quite a similarity in the styles.
Full moon fever is such a classic album. I remember buying it as soon as it came out.
reply
Hearing these back to back I can definitely hear the similarities. A mash up could be really fun.
reply
Yeah I hear that now you say it. Maybe we have some stackers who are good at mashups who could bash that together for our listening pleasure?
reply
What era was this, it's got a very 60s sound to it.
reply
This is from '79, but has a '50's rock and roll style to it
reply
Ahhh yeah, it's that rock and roll style that makes it feel from a different era.

@siggy47’s got me thinking about and listening to the dead more this past week. This one’s always been my feel-good fav.

Fine choice. My dream is for SN to take off bigger than reddit, at which I point I will splurge on a Grateful Dead territory for all the crazy deadheads congregating online.

Gotta love that rock and roll sound, especially with the influence from 12 bar blues you can hear in the structure of the bass. I don't know much about this band but I'm enjoying them.

You do love your samba. Let's get it! Really party feel.

I loved Salsa and its tropical flavor that makes anyone dance.

Only The Strong Survive (Live At The Marquee Club, London, 1987)

For me this the best track of the "In to the fire" album, an absolute barnstormer. I had the luck to see him on this tour and he opened the night with this track. Bloody brilliant
