I've been lifting pretty consistently for just under 5 years. If you just stick with it, you get stronger. It's been pretty fun.
How do you manage to maintain motivation and perseverance? I can't manage to have that discipline.

It only takes about 2 or 3 months of motivation, because at a certain point it just becomes routine. At this point it's just what I do. I remember hating working out when I first started, but now I genuinely enjoy it. I'm a big nerd too, so I have years worth of spreadsheets, I've tracked my progress from the beginning.
