I've been reading through what @hn posted in #754878:
Among them were some interesting things like the old cancelled Star Wars games, and Apex Legends being referred to as Titanfall 3
Reading this was a reminder how great Titanfall 2 was (campaign and multiplayer!) and how pissed off I still am that there is still no Titanfall 3 announcement from Respawn Entertainment after 8 years.
Titanfall 2 was one of the best games I have ever played but as far as I can tell, the franchise was abandoned by EA and/or Respawn Entertainment after Apex Legends' success. The community literally had to mod the game to make it playable via custom servers again after the official servers suffered from constant DDOS attacks. Since help never arrived after acknowledgements of the issues, some even hacked Apex Legends to raise awareness about the issue by displaying a "Save Titanfall" message with a link to savetitanfall.com1:
I almost got into game modding by contributing to the Northstar client but since games are written in C++ and you have to also run Windows to hack on them, I unfortunately didn't.
I also wanted to play the first game but the servers were already long mostly dead but I really liked the dirtier look compared to the flashiness of Titanfall 2. The burn cards were also pretty cool.
However, I don't want to miss to mention that even Titanfall 2's release was a major disappointment. It was locked in by EA to release on October 28, 2016, right between Battlefield 1 (October 21, 2016) and Infinite Warfare (November 4, 2016), the most popular FPS games out there. They basically sacrificed the Titanfall franchise just to maybe steal some customers from Activision during launch ...
Anyway. Which game sequel are you awaiting the most?

Warcraft 4 or Starcraft 3 but theyd probably be shit in this era of blizzard :(
I was pleasantly surprised how decently CDPR salvaged cyberpunk2077 and the quality of the dlc, so I'm looking forward to either a cyberpunk sequel or the next Witcher

Yup StarCraft 3 would be godsend

I don't trust Blizzard will be able to produce a good game in their current state. I would love for them to prove me wrong and release something good, but until then, I don't trust them.

Definitely Civ VII

I know people who have already pre-ordered it. Madness! Ahh

What do you think of the previews so far?
reply
I love the changes I've seen so far. The test will be how well they actually blended all these new elements together.
I'm particularly excited about navigable rivers and expanding urban areas.
reply
The only thing I'm pretty lukewarm about it changing cultures midgame. Seems weird. Most other stuff looks really solid.
reply
It'll be interesting to see how those transitions feel. I'm sure they know they're taking a big swing with that.
It is a variation of an idea I wanted them to have before, though. I wanted poorly managed empires to be able to spin off part of their territory as a new civ that's culturally linked to the starting civ. Basically, have revolutions that form new civs.
reply
I agree with your idea of it. But the way they have it, it seems like just something you pick mid-game. Seems artificial.
Maybe it will be like you can only pick certain cultures if you met some requirements. That might be interesting.
reply
There are definitely requirements for unlocking certain options. There's a historically accurate path for each civ, but then I noticed in one of the videos Egypt couldn't turn into Mongolia without having some quantity of horses.
It seems like the point is going to be to have civilizations based on the circumstances of the game. That would alleviate the issue of playing as Mongolia only to learn that you have no horses or other similar geography bummers.
reply
Ah, I see. I didn't know about that part. That actually sounds like it might be fun, as you shape your culture according to the geography and history that you make as you play
Easy for me: Path of Exile 2
No other ARPGs even come close to Path of Exile, sorry Diablo.
It's the MTG of the ARPG world, where they can release new content expansions for ten years straight, and still come up with new interesting ideas.

I want Bioware to recapture the magic of the original Mass Effect, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

This is my dream Mass Effect franchise!

I am looking forward to the new GTA. I usually only play sports games but they have been working on this so long, it will be worth a shot.

I really enjoyed titanfall 1, but kinda fell out of the world before 2 was released. It does suck when successful franchises are abandoned though
